Eli Roth’s new horror movie Ice Cream Man has arrived in theaters, and we were on the red carpet for the film’s Los Angeles premiere to talk with the filmmakers and cast about bringing this twisted story to the big screen. JoBlo’s own Ryan Cultrera attended the premiere at Quentin Tarantino’s Vista Theatre in Los Angeles, where he caught up with cast and crew to discuss Ice Cream Man, its gruesome kills, its unusual premise, and what audiences can expect from Roth’s latest. Check out our Ice Cream Man red carpet interviews in the video above!
The interviews offer a behind-the-scenes look at Ice Cream Man and the experience of making Eli Roth’s latest horror movie. Roth has described the project as an original idea he had been developing for more than 20 years, and the film finally gave him the opportunity to bring the concept to the screen through his independent production company, The Horror Section.
Ice Cream Man takes place in an idyllic summer town that is thrown into chaos when a mysterious ice cream man arrives and begins serving children sweet treats with horrifying consequences. The story follows siblings Jared and Lizzie as they realize that something is very wrong with the children around them.
Roth directed Ice Cream Man from a screenplay he wrote with Noah Belson. The movie stars Ari Millen as the titular Ice Cream Man, alongside Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, Charlie Storey, and Roth himself.
The movie also features practical effects work from Steve Newburn and Adrien Morot, with a score by Brandon Roberts and additional music from Snoop Dogg.
The movie follows Roth’s successful Thanksgiving, which brought the concept of his Grindhouse faux trailer to the screen in 2023. Although Thanksgiving 2 remains in development, Roth instead turned his attention to Ice Cream Man, shooting the movie in 2025.
The film is produced by Media Capital Technologies and The Horror Section, with Christopher Woodrow, Raj Singh, and Kate Harrison among the producers.
Ice Cream Man is now playing in theaters across North America. Did you get a chance to see it? What do you think of Eli Roth’s latest horror movie? Let us know in the comments.
