I could be mistaken, but I do believe this is our first time hearing of Jon Hewitt’s Aussie hookers-in-a-night-from-hell thriller X, which just got scooped up by IFC’s impressive Midnight umbrella. Care to hear more?
Written with Hewitt by Belinda McClory, who also stars, X boasts the simple yet intriguing logline of:
A jaded call-girl. A fledgling hooker. The night from hell.
Or, parsed another way, the film fuses: love, chance, escape and the oldest profession in the world, as experienced by two beautiful women on one ugly night that will change their lives forever.
Not sure about you, but I dug the first descriptor better. Way better!
Also starring Viva Bianca (below), Hanna Mangan Lawrence, Rowan Witt, Freya Tingley, Eamon Ferran, Wayne Blair, Anthony Phelan and Joshua Payne – X will be made available in the U.S. through various IFC outlets, be it On Demand or otherwise.
