WARNING: This article contains character and event spoilers for Marvel and Netflix's THE DEFENDERS!

Have you finished watching Marvel and Netflix's THE DEFENDERS yet? I sure hope so, because I'm about to drop some major spoilers regarding the character of Misty Knight (Simone Missick). You still have time to turn back. Okay, it's your funeral …

During an altercation near the climax of THE DEFENDERS, Misty Knight fulfilled her character destiny by losing her right arm in the heat of battle. That's right, her trusty appendage was severed clear off her body while trying to protect Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) against a vengeful Bakuto (Ramón Rodríguez) . The series comes to a close with Misty resting in a hospital bed as Colleen assures her that the best doctors are prepared to help her overcome her newly-acquired handicap.

It's a moment that fans of the Misty Knight character have been waiting for since Missick made her debut in the first season of Marvel's LUKE CAGE. Today, Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive look at the hard-boiled NYPD detective rocking her new high-tech limb alongside a fed-up -looking Luke Cage for the character's second season adventure.

For now, Marvel is remaining mum about how Misty gains access to the new arm. As an avid comic book reader, I'm certain that the origin of the tech will change seeing as it was originally Tony Stark and Stark Industries who designed the limb, after Misty lost her arm in a horrendous bombing incident. In regard to the details of the arm itself, the new appendage grants Misty superhuman strength in addition to a myriad of other abilities like stored energy blasts and gravity field disturbance. Oh yeah, she's also got a panel hidden in the forearm that allows her to control robots. Obviously, not all of these enhancements will be featured in the show seeing as Marvel is trying to keep the Netflix portion of their content as "street-level" and "grounded" as possible.

Nevertheless, this opens up some exciting possibilities for when Misty becomes a more integral part of the team in LUKE CAGE Season 2, which is scheduled for a 2018 debut on Netflix.
