Would you like to see Eve’s boobs in glorious 3D?
I know I would, though I probably won’t get my wish because IN THE BEGINNING, the new film from former Walden Media co-founder Cary Granat (THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE), is being aimed squarely at “family- and faith-based audiences”. And they don’t <3 boobs last I checked. According to Deadline’s Mike Fleming, IN THE BEGINNING will be a 3D telling of the story of creation, using The Book of Genesis as the primary resource. The film already has a script from writer John Fusco (HIDALGO, YOUNG GUNS) and will be directed by David Cunningham (THE SEEKER: THE DARK IS RISING, “The Path to 9/11”). Fleming goes on and gives more details on the proposed project: “I’m told the $30 million film will use 3-D visuals to transform the oft-told tale into a spectacle that the filmmakers hope will attract family- and faith-based audiences that flocked to The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, that first Chronicles of Narnia installment made on Granat’s Walden watch. I hear Granat pitched the film by claiming that the Adam And Eve story has never really been told by a feature film. (At least not since John Huston.)”
$30 million? With a budget like that, I doubt this will be the 2012 of Bible movies we all wish it could be.
