Is it just me or does it sort of feel like a child we raised? From the initial announcements to the rumored PG-13 rating to the mind-boggling casting of Christian Bale to the actual PG-13 rating… we’ve held your hand throughout this whole ordeal. And today we have one more update for you all…
This one isn’t a huge update but shines a little bit of light on the extent of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s involvement. What’s his deal? Will The Govenator be doing a walk-on cameo? Are we talking a CGI face with Roland Kickinger’s body and some voiceover? Here’s the explanation from Variety:
A body-cast mold of Schwarzenegger, created when he first appeared as the muscle-ripped cyborg, provided the basis for a digital-effects version of his famous character. The figure appears in “Terminator Salvation” as a living, breathing actor.
I dig it. As long as it feels like Ahnold is there I’m definitely down. I’m looking for goosebumps form this cameo, as I’m sure most of you are! Variety also goes on to explain how Schwarzenegger recently ok’d the final footage of his ‘cameo’ so McG could finish his final cut for early May screenings.
The govenor also recently wrote back to a blogger via Twitter according to the LA Times. Here’s what he said:
“I made it very clear that I don’t have the time to do the movie,” he said. “I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now. I think it’s cool to continue on with the franchise … in case I want to jump over again and get into the acting after I’m through here.”
Ha! So Arnold would like the opportunity to return if he so pleases… interesting. The Times also mention how Schwarzenegger says his ‘cameo’ would be in a brief scene in which the main character encounters him as a “future Terminator.”
That may be a bit to take in so I’ll give you a minute. I think it’s safe to say the wondering is over. We finally know how Arnold will be involved with TERMINATOR: SALVATION and I’m ok with it! The flick is set to hit theaters everywhere on May 21st and stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood (below), Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, and Helena Bonham Carter.
