Insidious producer & Exorcism of Emily Rose director team for genre flick

Don’t you just love it when we get word on a genre project heading our way that we have practically no details for? It’s such an exciting feeling because the possibilities are endless. Sure most of the time once the details on a project do spill out a lot of people aren’t feeling it but for that brief moment where we know nothing about the project… There’s hope.

It’s with that hope that I come to you today to tell you all about an untitled project in the works coming at us from producer Jason Blum and director Scott Derrickson. Some of Blum’s producing credits include PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and INSIDIOUS while Derrickson has directed titles like THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE and THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL. Interesting pair.

Now according to The LA Times the plan is to approach this new project much like INSIDIOUS and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY – Make a kick-ass genre flick, that’ll inevitably make a boat-load of cash, for the cheap. Hell if anyone can do it it’s Blum, who has already done it twice before.

As I mentioned earlier, we don’t really have any details regarding this new project but we do know this new untitled flick will be a horror story with a crime at the center. Plans are to shoot this Summer. Works for me!
