A while back, we ran a story on a little Spanish ditty called LA HORA FRIA (aka THE COLD HOUR), which has been generating the buzz, but unfortunately had no distributor.
That was until this past weekend, when Variety announced that L.A.-based Lightning Entertainment had picked up the international rights to the Elio Quiroga-directed film. Coincidently, the news comes as Quiroga has begun to shoot his third film, “NO DO,” a psychological chiller starring Ana Torrent.
For those who need reminding, THE COLD HOUR chronicles a group of human survivors who attempt to live normal lives while fending off zombies — human beings who have suffered the effects of chemical warfare. The title, in this case, refers to periodic waves of sub-normal temperatures that confine the survivors to their rooms. Hopefully with the international signing, a North American distributor won’t be far behind.
