Interview: MacGruber Stars Will Forte and Kristen Wiig

I loved the 2010 feature film MacGruber. It was ridiculous, bizarre, and about as much fun as a comedy can be. Will Forte was hilarious and Kristen Wiig was a joy. Your love of celery will never be the same. Yet as much as I dug this amazingly goofy flick, not too many people found their way into the theatre. It’s a shame. However, thank goodness for Peacock, MacGruber is back in the best of ways. In the upcoming 8 episode series, Forte, Wiig, and Ryan Phillippe are back to rip out some throats, sing a song, and have a shite ton of fun. Having watched the first three episodes, I can honestly say that I am officially hooked.

Frankly, I can’t think of a better way to finish off 2021 than chatting with the amazing people behind the new Peacock series, MacGruber. And two of these fine folks happen to be Mr. Forte and Ms. Wiig. The conversation was a blast as the two discussed bringing this character back, and why it ended up as a series – a brilliant move if I may add. And then there is Kristen Wiig who is always an amazing pleasure to speak with. I’m a massive fan of both Will and Kristen, and it’s so nice to see them return to this wild and wacky story. One of my favorite moments in the series is a crazily strange song that is so damn addictive, I was humming it long after my viewing.

MacGruber premieres this Thursday, on December 16, and it’s a package you’ll love to unwrap. And we have much more to come including interviews with Jorma Taccone, John Solomon, Joseph Lee Anderson, Ryan Phillippe, Billy Zane, and Laurence Fishburne!
