Interview: Milla Jovavich, Ali Larter & more on Resident Evil: Final Chapter

Sometimes just checking into a fun action franchise will soothe the savage beast. For me, RESIDENT EVIL has always been an entertaining ride. And you can bet that I was ready to see what the latest sequel had to offer. RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER starts with a bang, and it rarely lets up. While there are certainly a few questions when it comes to continuity, I personally enjoyed watching Alice (Milla Jovovich) and crew stop the evil empire behind the Umbrella Corporation. If you are looking for a whole lot of beasties, you'll certainly find them here.

During the junket for the new film, we once again had the great pleasure talking to Milla Jovovich. It's always fantastic chatting with Milla, and during our conversation we talked about saying goodbye to Alice. And while we were at it, she opened up about the crtical reception to the series and why it doesn't bother her that you most likely won't see this scoring high on Rotten Tomatoes. She is absoutely a pleasure to chat with, and still very good at kicking ass on the big screen.

We continued to talk about critical reception when we sat down with Ali Larter. The actress has long since been a genre favorite. After all, she has been a part of the FINAL DESTINATION franchise as well as the RESIDENT EVIL franchise. Hell, she was pretty awesome in the original Heroes as well. She discussed why she enjoys working in the sci-fi/horror genre, and of course working alongside Ms. Jovovich.

While these flicks may be all about strong women that could destroy you in an instant, the fellas this time around were terrific. One of my favorite interviews happend to be with Eoin Macken. The actor is one of the coolest guys around, and he also happens to be very talented. Check out his own feature that he wrote, directed and starred in, a wonderful little indie drama called LEOPARD. You can also catch him on the series The Night Shift. We also spoke to another cool dude by the name of William Levy. Both actors discussed living in this world, and whether they were familiar with RE when it came to the games and preivous installments.

And finally, writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson talked about creating the FINAL CHAPTER. In fact, the secrets revealed in the new flick he had ready to explore from the very beginning. He didn't even share it with his leading lady. Again, this series may not be for everybody, but frankly I've had a fun ride with Alice, The Red Queen and Wesker. If you are like me and excited for the final (?) installment, you can catch it this weekend at a theatre near you.
