Here it is, the moment you’ve been waiting for. And waiting for, and waiting for… It would appear that THE INVASION (formerly known as THE VISITING, then as simply INVASION… and even probably, VISITING THE INVASION) is really, truly being released – and now we have the official one-sheet, via Cinematical.
Unfortunately, there’s isn’t much to get excited about. This pedestrian poster, which follows an underwhelming trailer, seems to further confirm that THE INVASION was reshot multiple times, and dumped into mid-August, for good reason. The only intriguing thing about it is that James McTeigue, responsible for the extensive reshoots, is nowhere to be found among the credits. Neither are the Wachowski brothers, who did most of the rewriting…
THE INVASION is yet another spin on the old INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS yarn, with Nicole Kidman again portraying someone making ridiculous post-Oscar career choices, and a pre-James Bond Daniel Craig as a guy incredibly pissed that the crappy sci-fi turkey he made before CASINO ROYALE is coming out NOW.
