Invisible Man creepy plot details & new cast member

New plot details for Blumhouse and writer-director Leigh Whannel's remake of INVISIBLE MAN have taken shape online, and they sound creepy as hell. It turns out this new take on the classic story will follow Elisabeth Moss as a woman who begins to suspect her recently deceased abusive ex-boyfriend might still be lurking around. More specifically, the Leigh Whannell-directed movie follows

Cecilia (Moss), who receives the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide, and begins to rebuild her life for the better, but her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.

On top of this update, we also have word that Storm Reid (A WRINKLE IN TIME) will be playing a character named Sydney who is described as

With her mother gone, she’s picked up the maternal slack and is capable and mature for her age. She’s an outgoing lover of fashion who aspires to see the world, and she initially likes having Cecilia around as a role model but grows mistrustful of her when strange things begin to happen around the house.

The title role, of course, was at one point set to be played by SLEEPY HOLLOW and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN mega-star Johnny Depp, but that's obviously no longer the route the filmmakers are looking to take as we reported a few weeks back that it seems the producers are currently looking at Armie Hammer and Alexander Skarsgard for the lead role of Adrian Griffin. We'll keep up to date on all of this casting and make sure to pass along word once either Hammer or Skarsgard is cast. Until then, make sure to hit us up and let us know what you think of this casting news below!
