007 is keeping quite busy!
Not only does Daniel Craig have three high profile 2011 projects in the works, including Jim Sheridan’s DREAM HOUSE, Steven Spielberg’s THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN and Jon Favreau’s COWBOYS & ALIENS – it appears the man is being heavily considered to star in David Fincher’s retread of Swedish thriller THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Check it…
Though no deal has been inked, The Wrap posits Craig’s people are currently talking with Columbia brass about playing a part in the film based on the wildly popular Stieg Larsson novel. Word is Brad Pitt, a Fincher regular, is also being courted to play the male lead. You know, it may behoove the studio to take its time with their choice, as two immensely popular follow up books by Larsson are believed to be adapted for the big screen at some point as well.
In the safe hands of screenwriter Steve Zallian, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO picks up:
Forty years ago, when Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger’s are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.
With English actress Carey Mulligan in line to play the titular lead, who would you rather see square off with her in the flick: Ben Button or Bond himself?
