If so, it better be on premiere cable!
Per a ComingSoon article, French film company Gaumont recently announced the creation of their TV division, Gaumont International Television (GIT). With that announcement came word of one of their potential first projects, a small-screen adaptation of HANNIBAL. Word is the series is already in development: a one-hour drama written by Bryan Fuller.
Not much else is known at this time, except that the show will focus on Lecter’s early days, with extra emphasis on his dealing with FBI agent William Graham. I’m thinking MANHUNTER without the painfully dated “Miami Vice” vibe.
The show’s scribe, Bryan Fuller, has quite a number of high profile TV credits. After writing for “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and Star Trek: Voyager,” he went on to write the 2002 TV movie version of CARRIE. He then went on to write for “Dead Like Me,” “Wonderfalls, “Pushing Daisies” and most recently, “Heroes.”
Until we scoop more on this story, tell us what you think about an hour long “Hannibal” TV show. If not HBO or Showtime, where might it end up? AMC perhaps?
