Isaiah Mustafa cast as adult Mike Hanlon in It: Chapter Two

The adult cast of the Loser’s Club for IT: CHAPTER TWO has officially been completed as actor Isaiah Mustafa has been cast as the adult Mike Hanlon. He joins Jessica Chastain (Beverly Marsh), James McAvoy (Bill Denbrough), Bill Hader (Richie Tozier), Jay Ryan (Ben Hanscom), James Ransone (Eddie Kaspbrak) and Andy Bean (Stanley Uris) as the other member of the adult gang who will be terrorized by Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard).

The news was broken by Chosen Jacobs (who played the younger Mike in the first film) who posted a picture of Mustafa on Instagram with the caption “You’re one of us now.” He should’ve followed it up with a list of ways to survive being killed by a demon clown.

You may recognize Mustafa from the ingenious ad campaign from Old Spice, featuring Mustafa talking to women as The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. He would then proceed through the commercial doing generally amazing things while looking incredibly handsome…and I assume smelling great. He has also acted in numerous films and TV shows, most recently in the main role on Freeform’s SHADOWHUNTERS.

Andy Muschietti will return to direct the movie with a script by Gary Dauberman, with a release date set for Sept 6, 2019. The first film was a massive success, pulling in over $300 million domestically and over $700 million worldwide to become the highest-grossing horror movie of all time.

So, now that we have the full adult Loser's Club what do you all think of the casting? All in all, this is a pretty perfect lineup with Chastin and Hader being my favorite casting choices of the lot. There's a lot of diversity in the talent pool here and I think everyone will bring something a little different to the horror flick. We're a little over a year away from the movie, and less than that from the first footage, and even less than that from the first images and social media posts. It's all coming together.
