Island now Breed

Well if you’ve taken note on a flick called ZOMBIE ISLAND the past couple months, then I’ve got some interesting news for you all today. No… I’m not talking about that ZOMBIE ISLAND (to the right). I’m talking about Phil Claydon’s film.

According to AV Pictures’ official site, the new title for the film will be JOSHUA BREED. Interesting change. Usually when a name changes on a movie the meaning is in the same ballpark as the original title. JOSHUA BREED seems to go past the right field foul poul.

Here’s the synopsis we get: This is Reality TV taken to the next level .7 players have 70 minutes to survive the most lethal Zombies ever created in the deadliest game show imaginable. Here’s a bit more on what AV Pictures give us: The Special Effects team will be lead by Chris Fitzgerald who has previously worked on the model, creature designs and sculpture on all the Harry Potter event movies, as well as recently completing work as
key sculptor on Terry Gilliam’s The Brothers Grimm. Director of Photography, Martin Mercer (War Of the Worlds; Dare Devil) is working on concept cells and story boards.

Still no definite reason as to why we’re calling this JOSHUA BREED now. My best guess would be that these specific breed of Zombies were created by a dude named Joshua? Perhaps. JOSHUA BREED comes from the UK with producers David Ball, Eliane Huss and Angad Paul. The cast, though none confirmed, include Terence Stamp, Norman Reedus, and Adewale “Mr. Eko” Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Mr. Eko is one of my favorite characters on LOST and Terence Stamp always kicks ass so I’m definitely down! We’ll keep an eye on JOSHUA BREED and bring you any other updates as we hear them.
