It: Chapter Two featurette previews the end of an epic

Two years ago, director Andy Muschietti's Stephen King adaptation IT was released to staggering success at the global box office. Even though the film told only half of King's story, which had already been brought to the screen with a popular mini-series in 1990, audiences quickly made it clear that they were anxious to see a new version of this story. The film earned over $700 million worldwide.

This weekend, we'll get to find out just how anxious audiences are to see the rest of that story brought to life when Muschietti's IT: CHAPTER TWO reaches theatres.

In anticipation of CHAPTER TWO's release, a featurette called "It Ends" has arrived online. In this featurette, King lets viewers who might not be familiar with his novel or the mini-series know that this isn't a sequel, but rather the second half of his story. Muschietti discusses the fact that this is a final confrontation between good and evil, and actor Bill Skarsgard – Pennywise himself – offers some insight on his character's motivation.

Written by Gary Dauberman, IT: CHAPTER TWO has the following synopsis:

It's been 27 years since the Losers' Club had their traumatizing clash with the inhuman, child-eating clown from Derry, Maine – and they've since grown apart. But battling an unspeakable circus evil tends to bond people together, and they find themselves reunited in their hometown, unearthing a sinister history that threatens both their lives and their sanity.

The film stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean as the adult versions of the Losers Club. Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer are back as the child versions of the characters. And, as mentioned, Skarsgård is back as the evil clown Pennywise.

IT: CHAPTER TWO was produced by Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee, with Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg serving as executive producers.
