Good grief, there's nothing quite like a person's libido to sabotage a once rock-solid friendship. In actor-turned-director William H. Macy's sophomore directorial effort, THE LAYOVER, Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddario are a pair of lifelong best friends who opt to avoid their emotional, financial, and professional woes by escaping to Florida. The rub here is that, once in the air, Kate (Daddario) and Meg (Upton) find themselves rerouted due to a hurricane. Once they've landed in St. Louis, the girls find their iron-clad bond tested when a hunky stranger tugs at both their heart and g-strings.

When speaking about contributing to THE LAYOVER, Daddario told ComingSoon.net, “Kate Upton is a remarkable human being. I just adore her and I think that our relationship will translate on screen because we’re just getting along so well. She’s outrageously hilarious and really intelligent. We’re having a great time. I’m very excited to see the movie. It’s funny. It’s raunchy. It’s very interesting being directed by an actor. It’s very different than I expected. His instincts are coming from an actor’s point of view. I loved ‘RUDDERLESS’ and it’s really cool that William H. Macy is directing a comedy. It’s sort of surreal working with him."
THE LAYOVER, which is set for a release on September 1, 2017 via Vertical Entertainment and DIRECTV stars Kate Upton, Alexandra Daddario, Matt Jones, Kal Penn, Rob Corddry, and Molly Shannon. Written by David Hornsby (IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILIDELPHIA, THE JOE SCHMO SHOW) and Lance Krall, THE LAYOVER trailer has me laughing harder than I thought I would, and I must admit that I'll be checking this one out once it's released.
