Two things seem out of place right there. One: that King Jackass may be up to star in an upcoming zombie flick, and Two: that Broken Lizard’s Soter is gearing up to direct the said zombie flick. With those two kats on board, is this gonna be a zomcom, or what? Check what Soter had to say: . “[It’s] not a comedy at all. It’s a horror thriller. I’ve always wanted to make some contribution to the zombie genre and this is a different way to do that.”
Not really sure how making a zombie movie is all that ‘different’ of a way to contribute to the zombie genre, but I am sure that I’d see this flick in a heartbeat, with – or without – Knoxville in the starring role. Personally, I dig Knoxville as an actor, as the dude’s pretty entertaining and let’s face it- he’s just a likable guy. Can I see him in a zombie movie? Wouldn’t have placed him first in mind, but yeah… I can see it. Especially with a Broken Lizard at the helm.
Soter just wrapped WATCHING THE DETECTIVES with Lucy Liu and Cillian Murphy, with the zombie flick being his follow-up project. And while Knoxville has shown some interest in starring, it’s not official YET, so keep your mind open and your eye on the prize as we learn soon enough if Jackass vs Zombie is really gonna happen.
