Jackie Earle Haley briefly talks Elm St. reshoots and Freddy voice

When the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET trailer came out, people seemed to latch on to one thing: Freddy’s voice. The fact that it looks to be an effective interpretation of the original film was lost amid the howling out against Jackie Earle Haley’s “This won’t hurt one… little… bit” line.

But by now we know that we’ll be hearing a different Freddy when the film hits in the Spring. Last month, producer Brad Fuller said as much, and now Haley is saying the same, telling Sci-Fi Wire, “We’re still working on it. There’s still more [additional dialogue recording] stuff to do, so it’s an ongoing process, I think, until it comes out.”

Haley also addressed the reshoots that went down in December: “Just some re-shoots and tweaks that I think are probably customary for pretty much every movie that gets made.” He added that he was indeed in full Freddy get-up during that time, so obviously some dream sequences were toyed with.

Head on to THIS article from last month to read Fuller’s statement about test audiences and the reshoots, and keep an eye out for my full report from the set in the coming weeks.
