With vampires, werewolves, and post-apocalyptic hell being popular cinematic topics of late, don’t sleep on revenge thrillers. Whether it’s Liam Neeson going balls-out ballistic in TAKEN or Nic Cage set to DRIVE ANGRY, revenge flicks are quite healthy these days, and Hugh Jackman may very well be the next major star to serve some bloody comeuppance.
Sure it’s speculative at this point, but Antonie Fuqua’s Connecticut set kidnap and revenge flick PRISONERS may be a new endeavor for the WOLVERINE star. With Mark Wahlberg long attached to the role (even before Fuqua was aboard), various rumored leading men have included Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. So when the hell did Jackman come into play?
No telling, but according to the Valley Independent Sentinel: Local officials (of Derby, Connecticut – where the film will be shot) have been told Hugh Jackman is attached to the movie.
Yeah well, I’m attached to Michelle Pfeiffer – but that doesn’t necessarily mean shite!
We do know Jackman will strap on the boxing gloves in the robotic boxing film REAL STEEL, the Shawn Levy flick based on Richard Matheson’s short story.
