A couple of weeks ago I alerted you to the casting change that went down on THE RETREAT; Cillian Murphy had been announced as Jason Isaacs’ replacement on the suspense flick. Now there’s more casting news coming from the Magnet-produced film – according to Deadline.com, Jamie Bell has hopped aboard the picture, possibly replacing the previously announced David Tenant.
Production is scheduled to begin next month on THE RETREAT in Wales, with newcomer Carl Tibbets at the helm.
THE RETREAT follows a couple (played by Newton and Murphy) who are seeking to rebuild their relationship by taking time out on a remote island but their peace is shattered when they find a man in military uniform half-dead on their doorstep who tells them there is a lethal virus killing millions on the mainland.
Bell was one of the finalists for the new SPIDER-MAN movie, but fell short. He does have a huge movie coming out next year, however: Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN, alongside Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Cary Elwes and Andy Serkis – his KING KONG co-star.
