Originally penned by Venezuelan television writer Pablo Fenjves and soon to be rewritten by RED scribes Erich and Jon Hoeber, MAN ON A LEDGE focuses on Worthington who “plays a cop thrown in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Let out for his father’s funeral, he escapes and ends up on a hotel ledge threatening to kill himself. Bell plays his brother, who happens to be planning a heist of a jewelry store across the street while the cop threatens suicide. Mackie would play the disgraced cop’s ex-partner.” There is one remaining role, that of a female psychiatrist who tries to get the cop off the ledge and ends up falling in love with him (well, duh). Deadline claims Amy Adams is interested in the role, though no actual deal with the actress has been made.
Bell will next be seen shirtless with Channing Tatum in Kevin Macdonald’s sword and sandals epic THE EAGLE, and then in Steven Spielberg’s entry in the Tintin series, THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN, next Christmas.
