Jamie Foxx is headed for full recovery, with new details emerging that he is currently in a Chicago rehab facility, where he reportedly first checked into in late April. This stems from an incident earlier that month described by his family as a “medical complication.”
While the exact conditions of the “medical complication” have yet to be revealed, TMZ notes that “the facility specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.” The family has been quiet on the cause, but this information could help hush some of the rumors going around following the event. Photos obtained by the tabloid point to daughter Corinne, in addition to other family members, being with Jamie Foxx over the weekend to support him as he continues his rehab.
The Oscar-winning actor suffered his complication while making his upcoming movie Back in Action in Atlanta. While Jamie Foxx was in the hospital and on his way to rehab, production continued using a stunt and body double. Foxx was also on hiatus from his game show Beat Shazam, being replaced by Nick Cannon. But that doesn’t mean Foxx is out at Fox, as he just landed yet another show, We Are Family, which “will feature a studio audience entirely comprised of 100 contestants playing through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay to win up to $100,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed.” Corinne Foxx will co-host.
When news of Foxx’s issue emerged, many fans were concerned about his condition, especially since very few details were coming out. Now that Jamie Foxx is in rehab, they should be much more confident in his health and recovery. Foxx won an Academy Award and Golden Globe for Ray, that same year joining a small group of actors nominated for two Oscars at the same ceremony (Best Supporting Actor for Collateral).
