FUNimation haa acquired a pair of Japenese flicks and will release them on DVD here in the U.S. this fall. First up is HIGANJIMA: ESCAPE FROM VAMPIRE ISLAND, which is scheduled to hit shelves on September 6. BIG TITS ZOMBIE will follow on November 22.
HIGANJIMA: ESCAPE FROM VAMPIRE ISLAND is directed by Tae-gyun Kim, written by Tetsuya Oishi and based on the manga by Kôji Matsumoto. Two years after losing contact, Akira discovers that his long-lost brother has been seen on a remote island that does not even exist on the map! He decides to investigate the story with several friends and they find their way to Higanjima, a dark and mysterious place, but what has happened to the islands inhabitants? They learn too late that they have been lured into a trap and are quickly surrounded by blood-thirsty vampires. Now the friends must fight for their survival and find a way to escape from Higanjima – the island of vampires.
BIG TITS ZOMBIE is written and directed by Takao Nakano and based on a manga by Rei Mikamoto. Five bored strippers, working in a quiet customer-less club, stumble across a secret passageway in their dressing room, that leads to the basement and the discovery of The Well of the Dead and The Book of the Dead. They read the incantations from the book out loud and unknowingly, unleash the army of the Undead on the world! Armed with swords and chainsaws and their kick-ass fighting moves, only they can stop the zombie army now!
BIG TITS ZOMBIE, whose trailer can be seen blow, was shot in 3D, and FUNimation plans to bring both the 2D and 3D versions to DVD. Cover art and special features have not yet been announced, but I know you’re pumped on these ones, so you’ll be the first to know what they are.
