Jared Leto in early talks to play a serial killer for Little Things thriller

Creepy McCreeperson, otherwise known as Jared Leto, is said to be in early talks to star alongside Denzel Washington and Rami Malek in Warner Bros.' THE LITTLE THINGS, a crime thriller from THE BLIND SIDE director John Lee Hancock.

Hancock is poised to direct and write the film, which Variety says follows a burned-out Kern County, Calif. deputy sheriff named Deke (Washington) who teams with Baxter, a crack LASD detective (Malek), to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.

Should Leto sign on the dotted line, he will enter the film as a serial killer opposite Washington and Malek's respective characters. Once all of the details pertaining to the project are sorted, plans are to begin filming this fall.

Recently, Leto wrapped his filming of MORBIUS for Sony as part of their Spider-Verse initiative. In the upcoming comic book adventure, Leto plays Biochemist Michael Morbius, who out of desperation tried to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but  inadvertently infected himself with a form of vampirism instead. The project is being directed by Daniel Espinosa (LIFE, SAFE HOUSE) from a script penned by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. With so few details about the film having been made available, it remains unclear as to whether Morbius will be the hero or villain of his own film. As a way of adding blood to the water of this curious feature, Adra Arjona, Jared Harris, Matt Smith, and Tyrese Gibson have all joined the cast.

We'll be sure to bring you more details related to THE LITTLE THINGS as the project develops.
