Jason Reitman eyeing Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Rosemarie DeWitt for his next film

Jason Reitman does a damn fine job casting for his films, and The Wrap has learned which actors the director is interested in for his next project. Reitman has written and plans on directing an adaptation of the Chad Kultgen novel Men, Women & Children, and he's looking at Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner and Rosemarie DeWitt for roles in the film. The Wrap also says Cameron Diaz might have a part as well. Production could start as soon as November, which means Reitman probably won't be hitting up all the awards shows this fall and winter for his latest film LABOR DAY.

So what's MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN about? Here's a description of the novel from Amazon:

The author of The Average American Male and The Lie returns with a shocking, salacious, and surprisingly subtle new novel of the average American family. Like Neil Strauss and Nick Hornby, Chad Kultgen has the capacity to enthrall and astonish even the most ardent readers of contemporary literary fiction. In Men, Women, and Children, his incisive vision, unerring prose, and red-light-district imagination are at their most ambitious and surprising, as he explores the sexual pressures of junior high school students and their parents navigating the internet’s shared landscape of pornography, blogs, social networking, and its promise of opportunities, escapes, reinvented identities, and unexpected conflicts.

Based on what I've read about the novel it sounds like Men, Women & Children is a great mix of laughs and drama, which in my opinion makes it a perfect fit for a director like Jason Reitman. What really excites me though is Adam Sandler possibly starring in the film. I absolutely loathe his most recent films, but I think he could really shine in a role like this and with a director like Reitman. Although, with the beautiful actresses mentioned above in the mix, it does look like the tradition of Sandler being cast with a hot wife that in real life wouldn't want anything to do with him will continue.

If MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN starts production in November, the film will probably hit theaters sometime next year.
