Well, on this – Friday the 13th – it’s only natural that we get something big from the set of FRIDAY THE 13TH – THE REMAKE. And you’re looking at it: Jason’s MASK! Okay, so no big deal, looks like the mask as we’ve known it for years… But I guess that’s good news right? You can imagine the urge to put spikes in it, or flames running down the sides or some such shite… But then a fanboy mutiny would ensue, and that would be good for no one.
Anyway, MTV has a brief video unveiling the mask (which has its own suitcase) and giving us a look at Amanda Righetti running around for a few seconds… Call me a cynic, but it resembles one of Platinum Dunes’ TEXAS CHAINSAW movies. I just hope this movie looks like it takes place in the woods… An arid desert feel won’t do for a FRIDAY THE 13TH film…
Directed by Marcus Nispel, the flick also stars Jared Padalecki, Travis Van Winkle, Danielle Panabaker, and Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees. Watch for it to slash its way into theaters February 2009.
