Jennifer Lopez to star in a live-action version of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN SANDIEGO? was once a line of educational software for kids that would entertain and simultaneously teach geography, history, and other subjects. Walden Media, however, wants to turn the brand into a movie starring Jennifer Lopez, something I feel may only serve to lower IQs.

According to Deadline, Walden Media (THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA) has acquired the film rights to CARMEN SANDIEGO and wants to develop it as a vehicle for Lopez. At the moment though, she is only attached to the project as a producer. The goal is to make the film kind of like NATIONAL TREASURE meets THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR.

“When the ACME agency’s greatest detective Carmen Sandiego becomes the world’s greatest thief, it’s up to her former partner to follow her clues and track her down. Their cat-and-mouse game leads the partner to confront a greater mystery: Is Carmen really a thief or a hero?”

CARMEN SANDIEGO almost became a movie back in the late 90s with Sandra Bullock, but it never went anywhere. Thankfully.
