Jesse Eisenberg would love to continue his role as Lex Luthor

Jesse Eisenberg is currently at Sundance to show off his work in THE END OF THE TOUR and took a few minutes to discuss perhaps the biggest movie of his career so far, the upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. He didn’t go into detail about his hair if you’re curious but did suggest that he would be open to returning to the role in the future.

Variety asked Eisenberg if he thinks he will ever play Lex again in a Superman sequel:

I would love to; it’s a great group and director, and the most ideal character to play.

One of the many rumors surrounding David Ayer’s upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD suggests he would be reprising his Lex Luthor role for the film. As he reminded us though in his interview, Eisenberg wasn’t exactly a Superman fan growing up. "No… I never minded him," he said also admitting that he only just watched the films now "just to understand the context of this one. But no, not as a child."

Fair enough. I can’t imagine everyone who’s ever been in a superhero movie was a fan of the material growing up. I’m still anxious to see what Eisenberg brings to the role; having just re-watched THE SOCIAL NETWORK and ZOMBIELAND this week, I’m in full fan-mode for this guy.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters on March 25, 2016 and also stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy.
