Jessica Lange joins FX’s American Horror Story, more details come out

While it still remains to be seen if the show will live up to its genre-slanted name, there’s no doubt that “American Horror Story” is worth keeping a curious eye on. It comes from the FX network and producer Ryan Murphy (“Nip/Tuck”,”Glee”) and has been shrouded in mystery since its initial announcement. What do we know about it? That it’s “a horror show with subversive sensibilities”, that it so far stars Connie Britton and Denis O’Hare, and that its characters have got some serious issues (though you can’t really name me a drama series that doesn’t contain such characters, can you?).

Jessica Lange has also hopped aboard the project, the first TV series for the Oscar-winner. And with that announcement comes some more details regarding this “Horror Story”. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show revolves around husband and wife Ben and Vivien Harmon (Friday Night Lights’ Connie Britton), who move into a creepy San Francisco home next door to Constance (Lange) and her daughter with Down Syndrome who knows more about the house than everyone realizes.

As previously reported, Denis O’Hare will play “Larry the Burn Guy”, who, it turns out, is a former resident of the creepy house in question.

Ryan Murphy and his crew are reportedly revising their script to expand the role for Ms. Lange. Production on the pilot, which Murphy will direct, begins later this month. No word on when FX is looking to air it.
