Jigsaw talks Saw future

I haven’t seen SAW V yet, but that’s because I’ve never seen a SAW flick in the theater. I suppose I’ll eventually give it a look, but I’ll admit that along with many other I’m quite weary of the franchise at this point. But the damn thing made $30 million in three days – par for the course for a SAW film – which is more than twice its budget, so there’s no stopping the series now… Actor Tobin Bell realizes this, and he spoke to Fangoria about the prospects of the series (hint: it will never, ever end, ever).

“…Jigsaw is a rich character, and I believe that there’s enormous potential for this story to expand even further. But in future episodes, I would like us to continue to explore the conceptual ideas that kids talk to me about. ‘Appreciate your blessings’ and stuff like that.” In other words: We don’t believe it will ever end!

For me, the “appreciate your blessings” angle is so preposterous that it’s not even relevant anymore. Jigsaw and his crew dig torturing people, end of story… I’m going to guess that the newest SAW has once again changed the rules and our perceptions of the events of the previous films, perhaps even to include a new sanctimonious villain, as will the next one, and so on and on… By the time part 10 shows up, it’ll turn out Danny Glover is the mastermind of all this…

Will Julie Benz make an appearance in the next SAW flick? You can probably count on it…
