This past weekend, the holiday horror story SICK FOR TOYS, which was produced by our own James Andrew "JimmyO" Oster, premiered to a sold out crowd at the Dallas International Film Festival. Next the movie will be showing on the big screen at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase festival in Los Angeles on Monday, May 14th

Directed by David Del Rio from a screenplay by Justin Xavier and based on a story by JimmyO, SICK FOR TOYS stars Xavier, Camille Montgomery, Jon Paul Burkhart, David Gunning, Melanie Thompson, Katie Wallace, Levi Ashlyn, Morgana Shaw, and HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT's Pinhead Paul T. Taylor.

The official synopsis:

Every year for Christmas, Emilia gets the same gift from her brother Edward. This year when she wants something more, the siblings will discover that even your favorite toys always tend to break. Sick For Toys is a nightmarish family holiday thriller, one that will twist and turn itself under your skin until its disturbingly creepy final act.

Xavier also produced the film alongside JimmyO, with Burkhart and Gunning executive producing. SICK FOR TOYS is a presentation of Nine Ten Films and Delco-Cut Productions.

Freestyle Digital Media is set to release the film on multiple streaming platforms in the US and Canada on October 1st. A home video release will follow in November. Devilworks is currently presenting the project to international distributors at the Cannes Film Festival.

I have seen SICK FOR TOYS and was very impressed. It's a well crafted, surprising, twisted tale that I highly recommend checking out when you get a chance.
