J.K. Simmons is finally featured in new Terminator: Genisys TV spot

Just like that, I’m a little bit more excited for TERMINATOR: GENISYS. We hadn’t seen much of anything from J.K. Simmons' Detective O’Brien character, but thankfully this new TV spot gives us the goods. I’m surprised it took them this long to throw something together featuring the now Oscar-winning actor but I'm glad they did. Check out the spot below!

Detective O'Brien is said to be a weary alcoholic detective who has been pursuing Sarah Connor for more than three decades. At some point in the film it looks like he'll get wind of the whole "angry robots from the future trying to kill me" thing. I've been a huge fan of J.K. Simmons ever since HBO's Oz and it's hugely gratifying to see him finally get the recognition he deserves.

The synopsis:

When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

TERMINATOR: GENISYS will be time-traveling into theaters July 1, 2015.
