In an improbable second round of Chilean horror filmmaking news in one day, it appears legendary writer/director Alejandro Jodorowski (EL TOPO, SANTA SANGRIA) is indeed forging ahead with a project that’s been languishing in developmental hell for years. A project called ABEL CAIN!
Self described as a dream project by Alejandro himself, ABEL CAIN is the epic-in-scope tale of brothers Cain and Abel, who after the untimely death of their mother, embark on a journey to bury her holy body next to their father’s grave on a forbidden paradise island. But the island’s treasures attract numerous kidnappers with different plans.
No real word on whether or not this dream project will leap frog current film KING SHOT, which is currently in pre-production (produced by David Lynch). That flick stars the impressive ensemble of Asia Argento, Nick Nolte, Marilyn Manson, and Udo Kier. A foursome I’d watch getting high!
But ABEL CAIN has secured funding and has slowly moved its way into pre-production.
