Joe Holt lands recurring role on new Walking Dead spin-off

If you've been a fan of some of the most talked about, fan favorite TV shows over the last twenty years, there's a chance you might have seen actor Joe Holt at some point. He has appeared on multiple Law & Order shows, Monk, Grey's Anatomy, Prison Break, Criminal Minds, Supernatural, NCIS, Arrested Development, Scandal, The Blacklist, Elementary, The Tick, Bull, The Punisher (pictured above)… The list goes on.

Somehow Holt hasn't appeared on The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead, but he is now set to make up for the lack of Walking Dead shows on his résumé. A new, currently untitled Walking Dead spin-off is currently filming in Virginia, and Holt has signed on to play a recurring character in the series.

Holt's character is Leo Bennett, "a solid family man and respected professor with a generous heart and unwavering optimism for the future. He’d risk his life to save the people he cares about." I assume that living in the zombie apocalypse will give Leo Bennett plenty of opportunities to risk his life for his loved ones.

Co-created by Scott M. Gimple and showrunner Matt Negrete, the latest Walking Dead show centers on

two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.

Holt's co-stars will include Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Aliyah Royale, Annet Mahendru, and Nico Tortorella.

The first season of this show will consist of ten episodes and is expected to premiere on AMC sometime in the spring of 2020. The pilot is being directed by KONG: SKULL ISLAND's Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
