I really hope JOHN HANCOCK (or just ‘HANCOCK’) defies it’s shitty, shitty title and ends up a great movie. I’ve no doubt that the thing will make a ton of money (no Will Smith film will ever not), but I hope it’s a critical success too. In the movie Will plays a tortured superhero who has fallen out of favor with the public enters into a questionable relationship with the wife (Charlize Theron) of the public relations professional (Jason Bateman, THE KINGDOM) who’s trying to repair his image. He tries to transform himself by romancing this alluring housewife, causing chaos in the city.
I’m really rooting for director Peter Berg (he’s not Irish) because he’s awesome. But I do hope that they change the title to something cool, so that Berg can truly unleash some directorial BUTT WHIPPIN’, BUTT WHIPPIN’!
