John Krasinski would love to play Mr. Fantastic in Fantastic Four reboot

After two failed attempts by Fox to transform the Fantastic Four into a big franchise, someone else desperately needs to show them how its done if Marvel's first family is to successfully make the leap to the big-screen. That day may not be too far off as I'd imagine that Marvel Studios will begin thinking of a way to bring the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe once Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox is finalized. We'll obviously be needing new actors to step into the roles of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing when that day arrives, and John Krasinski seems keen to throw his hat (and Emily Blunt's) into the ring.

While speaking with ScreenRant about A QUIET PLACE, John Krasinski was asked whether Emily Blunt and himself would be into playing the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic.

Oh yeah, the Fantastic Four. I would love that! I mean listen, I’m still getting into the whole superhero thing. I didn’t read comics as a kid, not as many, I read some but not as much, but I’m a huge superhero fan so yeah, I’d love to do something like that. If they’re are any left, a lot of these have been taken but the ones that are left, yeah, I would love to do something like that. And listen, I’d love to work with her again so any chance I got would be great.

Although I'm sold on John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, it's the thought of Emily Blunt joining the party as Invisible Woman which is the most exciting. This isn't the first time that the married actors have flirted with the realm of Marvel movies, as Krasinski was once under consideration for the role of Captain America and Emily Blunt turned down the roles of Black Widow in IRON MAN 2 and Peggy Carter in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. Her name was also frequently brought up in regards to Carol Danvers in CAPTAIN MARVEL before the role went to Brie Larson, but Blunt recently denied the rumours that she was up for the role, telling ScreenCrush that "nobody ever called me about it." In regards to the Fantastic Four roles, it's obviously an offhand comment from John Krasinski, but it's certainly fun to imagine.

Could you see John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman in FANTASTIC FOUR?

John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will next be seen in A QUIET PLACE which will hit theaters on April 6th.
