John Williams’ score for Force Awakens will street Dec 18th plus new posters

The bulk of Force Friday may be reserved to toy and collectible enthusiasts, but Disney did have some news to spread regarding the actual film at the end of this merchandising venture. As we all know, J.J. Abrams and crew were successful in wrangling maestro John Williams to return to a galaxy far, far away and now we have a date in which we can listen to his music; December 18th.

For those keeping track, that is the exact same day the film hits theaters. You have to hand it to Disney; they've done a pretty amazing job at keeping the bulk of FORCE AWAKENS' secrets at bay. Just reading about what Anthony Daniels had to endure should give you an idea of how prepared they are to make sure nothing is leaked, so this release is no doubt a part of that. While I don't think we'll be seeing any spoilers in the track names (a la PHANTOM MENACE), the music contained on the disc may still give listeners an idea of what to expect. With this December 18th release date, that'll ensure most viewers will be surprised by the events taking place on-screen.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will be released on December 18, 2015.
