Back at the beginning of November we got the unfortunate news that Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS was being delayed again, though not by much. Now we haven’t heard anything since then but to help you get through until April today I’m bringing you a nifty little DARK SHADOWS update via MTV!
So what do I have for you today? Well MTV recently sat down with the one and only Johnny Depp and the topic somehow found it’s way to DARK SHADOWS. When asked if he had any idea how he would portray the character ‘Barnabas Collins’ Depp responded:
“He’s coming around. He’s a guy who I think is going to be very interesting. He’s going to be a lot of fun in a very outside and strange way. I’m excited.”
If you have any worries about this adaptation I’m pretty sure you can put them to rest. It seems Depp, Burton and scribe Seth Grahame-Smith have things covered. Just scroll on down below to check out the video clip from the interview.
DARK SHADOWS centers on the 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, sealed in his coffin by his father in 1795 and inadvertently unleashed in the present where he must adjust to an entirely new world while passing himself off to relatives in Collinwood, Maine as a cousin from England.
DARK SHADOWS is set to start filming this April so we should be hearing more from the film soon. As always whenever an update comes our way we’ll be sure to pass the good word along to all of you.
