Jon Favreau aims to personally direct an episode of The Mandalorian Season 2

The first season of THE MANDALORIAN doesn't make its Disney+ debut until November 12th, though Jon Favreau and his team are already busy making plans for more episodes set in a galaxy far, far away. While it's true that the House of Mouse has yet to order a sophomore season of the Star Wars spin-off, that hasn't kept Favreau and company from hammering out scripts and lining up potential directors for individual episodes yet to come. When speaking about the show's preparatory process, Favreau recently revealed that he'd like to get behind the camera to direct an upcoming episode.

“We’re working on season 2, writing, prepping with the directors and getting ready to direct myself, actually,” the IRON MAN and SWINGERS director told Entertainment Weekly. “I didn’t get a chance the last time around because I was doing Lion King. So I’ll step in for one of them.”

While it's important to remeber that Disney has yet to give the green light to a second season of THE MANDALORIAN, I would also think that more adventures featuring Star Wars' fan-favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett, are inevitable. We'll have to wait for the official word, obviously, though I think it's a positive sign that Favreau and his crew are already hard at work developing potential episodes.

THE MANDALORIAN follows a lone bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy as he sets out to collect a particularly difficult prize. In addition to Pascal, the cast of THE MANDALORIAN also includes Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Taika Waititi, Ming-Na Wen, and Werner Herzog. The first episode of the highly-anticipated Star Wars spin-off will premiere when Disney+ launches on November 12, 2019.
