Jonah Hill joins Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained for undisclosed role

It’s kind of hard to keep up with the musical chairs casting of Quentin Tarantino’s DJANGO UNCHAINED, so I’ll keep it simple: Jonah Hill has, in fact, joined the cast of the still filming “southern,” filling in the ranks with Jamie Foxx, Chrisoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington,

Hill was originally considered for the role of Scotty Harmony, the kid who loses Django’s slave wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) to Calvin Candie but had to turn the role down due to scheduling conflicts.  The actor is now back in the mix, but playing a different, undisclosed role.

After the success of MONEYBALL and 21 JUMP STREET, Hill has been lining up a number of high-profile projects, including Scorsese’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET, TRUE STORY with James Franco, Max Landis’ GOOD TIME GANG with Mark Wahlberg, and the upcoming THE WATCH with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn.  I really don’t know when this dude sleeps.

I like Jonah Hill, so I’m happy to see him branch out, although I know some are getting “tired” of him.  However, I think that by switching it up with dramatic roles, Hill will make himself more appreciated than annoying.  It may be time to send his agent a thank you card.

DJANGO UNCHAINED opens on December 25, 2012 and Hill can next be seen in THE WATCH, opening on July 27, 2012.
