You make the call…
Word also has that comedic writer-director Mike White (YEAR OF THE DOG), as well as Phil Lord and Chris Miller (CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS) have expressed interest in directing, but they’re more than likely second-tier choices to helm. Honestly, if Demme has as much interest as reported, they might as well give him the damn the job right now.
As far as the female lead goes, we know Natalie Portman scrapped the shite after O. Russell bailed. Scarlett Johansson has been rumored, but it seems a wise correlation to place Anne Hathaway (below) in the running if Demme indeed lands the gig (they worked together on RACHEL GETTING MARRIED).
