Good lord, has it really been 8 months since hearing of Joseph Kosinski’s OBLIVION? Crazy talk!
During that long absence, it seems the sci-fi film has undergone a name change. Now to be referred to as HORIZONS, Kosinski’s post-TRON: LEGACY effort has just gotten a script doctor to come in and do a little touchup work. The doctor’s name? Karl Gajdusek!
Gajdusek, who penned the upcoming Nic Cage/Nicole Kidman thriller TRESPASS, as well as various episodes of “Dead Like Me,” also did some rewrite work on Liam Neeson’s new thriller UNKNOWN. Sounds like a decent way to inject some darkness into a Disney project.
Adapted from Radical Publishing’s sci-fi graphic novel, HORIZONS centers on a battle-damaged soldier who, assigned to a desolate planet after a court-martial, patrols the bleak landscape in an effort to destroy the last vestiges of a primitive alien race. When a mysterious traveler arrives unexpectedly, their lives become inextricably linked as they are forced to question everything they know about this world and themselves.
