Jude Law & Taika Waititi to team up for Showtime series The Auteur

As several of Showtime's long-running series have come to an end this year, or soon will be, the network is busy developing a new slate of programming, and one project could see a team-up between Jude Law (The New Pope) and Taika Waititi (JOJO RABBIT).

Jude Law is currently in talks with Showtime to star in The Auteur, a limited-series which will be a satire on Hollywood told from the point of view of an eccentric "auteur" played by Law.  Both Law and Taika Waititi are onboard to executive produce the series, with Waititi set to direct a few of the episodes as well as co-write the series with Peter Warren. The show is still in development and it's not known when it would go into production as Jude Law will soon be reprising his role of Albus Dumbledore in third installment of the FANTASTIC BEASTS franchise and Taika Waititi is in post-production on NEXT GOAL WINS and will start production on THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER later this year. Busy fellas.

Jude Law was last seen in the second season of The Young Pope, now titled The New Pope, earlier this year, as well as starring alongside Blake Lively in THE RHYTHM SECTION. He also starred alongside Carrie Coon in THE NEST, which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last month. You can check out a review of THE NEST from our own Chris Bumbray right here. As for Taika Waititi, he's fresh off of winning an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for JOJO RABBIT, and will next be appearing in FREE GUY on July 3, 2020 as well as THE SUICIDE SQUAD on August 6, 2021.
