The game KANE & LYNCH: DEAD MEN came and went. I checked it out, enjoyed it, beat it. It was a pretty short game but had a decent story behind it. It’s your basic bad guy revenge flick. Had a pretty sweet, twisted ending and a good pairing with Kane and Lynch, so overall it was a good time.
Well reported on before the game even came out, KANE & LYNCH is being made into a movie. Why get production started nearly a year since the game hit shelves? Maybe a sequel is coming out? Maybe they just want the flick to try and stand out on it’s own. Who knows, fact is we’re underway.
I guess there’s been some speculation as to who will play Mr. Kane and Mr. Lynch. That speculation seems to lead to BANDITS duo Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton. I’ve heard nothing about these general wonderings, until now.
Reason being is that Bruce Willis IS actually looking to star in KANE & LYNCH. Variety reports that Willis is looking into playing Kane.
KANE & LYNCH follows an unlikely pair. A convict mercenary gone-bad-then-good (Kane) and a complete homicidal psychopath (Lynch) must team up when they’re both forced to search for a stolen microchip.
I can see Willis as either of those roles, and I’m officially stoked he’s down for the project! I have the feeling KANE & LYNCH is going to work out MUCH better as a movie. Seems like that’s what it was meant to be from the get go.
Shooting is set to begin before the end of the year, with the top priority being to find someone to play Lynch. Kyle Ward penned the script with Simon Crane making his directing debut. As second unit director and stunt coordinator, Crane has worked on: HANCOCK, MR. & MRS. SMITH, TROY, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, and the upcoming SURROGATES (which also stars Willis.) among others. So I can definately see him bringing us a badass KANE & LYNCH flick.
Hopefully word on who will be playing Lynch will break soon. Once we hear, you’ll hear it.
