Kate Beckinsale confirmed for Underworld 3D, but still wanting out

What the hell back in August rumors were flying around that Kate Beckinsale either would–or wouldn’t–be starring in the upcoming UNDERWORLD 3D (i.e., UNDERWORLD 4). The last word on the subject was that Becksale was not returning to the franchise (check that out HERE). But oh what a few months will do, it seems, as Variety is reporting that Beckinsale is, in fact, attached to the project, as is husband/director Len Wiseman!

For those who missed Beckinsale in spandex in UNDERWORLD 3, this is excellent news and news I never thought was going to come, as she seemed to feel quite strongly about not coming back to the UNDERWORLD franchise. But you know what they say, money talks and bullshit walks.

Then again, according to a scooper over at Bloody-D, it sounds like Beckinsale is trying to weasel herself out of the deal, trying everything she can to leave the project. Damn, yo… contracts are such a bitch! You’d figure the opportunity to star in yet another film based on the franchise your husband created, and a franchise that essentially made you star, would be a no brainer.

So as of now, Beckinsale is officially attached to have her assets pop out at us in glorious 3D with Wiseman at the helm. Kick ass.
