Kate Winslet in talks for female lead in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic

The upcoming Danny Boyle-directed Steve Jobs biopic, a former Sony Pictures project, is moving right along at Universal Pictures as more casting talk is underway. At this point we know for sure (for now) that Michael Fassbender is set to play Jobs and Seth Rogen will play Steve Wozniak. We recently heard that the Aaron Sorkin-scripted film was looking at Jeff Daniels to play former Apple CEO John Sculley and that Natalie Portman was being eyed for a role. It seems like Portman may have passed on the film because Kate Winslet is now in line to join the project as the female lead.

Kate Winslet is in early talks and details regarding the role are still unclear at this time. Considering the way the movie is structured (like a play with only three major scenes), it's anyone’s guess what the female lead will entail. Winslet is my favorite actress with a talent and beauty that is sure to fit in with any project she takes on; I hope to see her in this intriguing movie for sure.

Universal will be trying to start production on the Jobs movie early next year, obviously before Fassbender goes off to the X-MEN: APOCALYPSE set. We will be sure to keep you posted, for now let's all appreciate the Winslet.
