Kaye Gets OK?

Helmer Tony Kaye is popping back onto the Hollywood radar with his indie pic PARANOIA. This follows an absence since 2002 after his disasterous fight with New Line over the final cut of AMERICAN HISTORY X – a project which ultimately went to star Edward Norton for completion.

According to Variety: Paranoia concerns a top ad agency exec who comes to work on a Friday only to learn it’s actually Sunday and she’s a suspect in a murder case. She tries to reconstruct the two lost days from clues found in her handbag, with the storyline culminating in a “Sixth Sense”-like twist.

Obvious shades of MEMENTO and PAYCHECK as well, but lost time stories are always a good time when handled with a deft hand. Here’s hoping Kaye has gotten his demons under control, because he’s clearly a talented guy when he’s not acting like a crazy person.

No word on casting yet, but we’ll bring you more news as it surfaces.
