Keanu Reeves reveals what MCU role he wanted and talking to James Gunn about Constantine

John Wick Chapter 4 has had its premiere, and people are raving about the new installment of Baba Yaga’s odyssey. Some are even already hailing it as one of the best action movies ever. Because of this, the film already had my curiosity, but now it has my attention. Promotion for John Wick Chapter 4 is in full force, and the man of the hour, Keanu Reeves, is talking directly to the fans as part of it. The Matrix star recently hosted an AMA on Reddit, and the fans jumped at the chance to ask him about his interest in the MCU and DC.

In the AMA, a fan asked Reeves if there was ever an acting role he has regretted turning down. He replies that there isn’t. Although, he did add that he always wanted to play Wolverine. There had been reports in the past that Keanu and Marvel had taken meetings and discussed possibilities of collaborating. However, not much has been revealed other than Reeves’ interest in playing the Canadian mutant. According to Deadline, he did take a notable meeting with DC about another comic book-based character people have been clamoring to see him as.

Keanu had confirmed some time ago that he is actively in development for a sequel to his 2005 film, Constantine, where he played John Constantine, based on the comic Hellblazer. Being a DC character, Reeves has revealed that not only is the sequel currently in manifestation, but he has talked with DC studios’ James Gunn about the film. Does this mean Constantine is about to crossover with other characters in the new DC film universe? Well, Reeves doesn’t say. He confirms he’s spoken with Gunn, but does not elaborate any further.

Other noteworthy tidbits that the John Wick star has revealed include that he is interested in working with director David Fincher. He was also asked if he had ever stolen anything from any of his movie sets, to which he responded, “Not stolen… the watch and wedding ring from John Wick, a sword from 47 Ronin, and the first red pill that the Wachowski’s ever gave me.”
