Did someone order more comedy with a side of fries from Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell? In addition to teaching the world about who’s a dude (it turns out we’re all dudes), the dynamic burger-slinging comedic duo is looking to “Super-Size” their recent reunion for Good Burger 2 in more ways than one! Speaking with Variety about getting back behind the counter for the long-awaited sequel Good Burger 2, Thompson says he and Mitchell will “one million percent” continue working together after the delicious follow-up to 1997’s Good Burger.

“It would be only right for us to continue to go explore what Kenan and Kel could have been when we were in our 20s when we left Nickelodeon and decided to try to figure it out, instead of just automatically doing the Abbott and Costello thing,” Thompson says. “Now that we’re older and sharper and wiser and this that and the other, we can do it at such a high level on so many different outlets or whatever. We know so much now. There’s so many different parts to the business. There’s so many different opportunities and we’re just ready to tackle all of that. So it’s very exciting, I think, especially when we’ll be able to own it.”

Thompson and Mitchell first joined forces on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All That, where Good Burger hit the grill. They kept their best friends dynamic going with four Kenan & Kel series seasons. The show featured Thomson as Kenan Rockmore and Mitchell as Kel Kimble, two buds who delight in mischief and drinking orange soda. After Kenan & Kel ended, the duo went their separate ways before reteaming for Paramount’s Good Burger 2.

“As soon as I met him, laughter, jokes, the whole entire time,” Mitchell said about his chemistry with Thompson. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna hang out with this kid, man.’ Then our families are similar. Our moms are still best friends. I mean, it’s just been great, man. And to do something that you love, you know, it’s not really work. We’re just having fun.”

Good Burger 2 “follows Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and original cashier Ed (Kel Mitchell), as they reunite in the present day at fast-food restaurant Good Burger with a hilarious new group of employees. Dexter is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”

In addition to Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, Good Burger 2 stars Lil Rel Howery (Get Out) as Cecil McNevin, Jillian Bell (Murder Mystery 2) as Katt Boswell, Kamaia Fairburn (Blockbuster) as Mia, Alex R. Hibbert (The Chi) as Ed2, Fabrizio Guido (Perry Mason) as Mr. Jensen, Elizabeth Hinkler (The Good Doctor) and Emily Hinkler (The Good Doctor) as Cindy and Mindy and Anabel Graetz (Free Guy) as Ruth. The film also includes original All That series cast members who are reprising their roles: Josh Server as Fizz, Lori Beth Denberg as Connie Muldoon, and Carmen Electra as Roxanne.
